March 27 Clinton Club Tournament
It was a sunny but cold day for late March 2022. 10 boats entered the tournament, and the competition was close after the first two places. This was the first tournament for the club weighing only 5 fish. Most of the crappie brought to the weigh station were white crappie, but the teams that found black or black nose crappie generally had the best weights.
The team of Zach Hari and Bike Bristle won the tournament with a weight of 4.40 lbs for 5 fish. Steve Zehr and Dave Nugent weighed 5 fish at 4.15 lbs. for second place. Third place went to Greg Kaiser with a weight of 3.86 lbs. Jason and Jacob Huber took 4th place with a weight of 3.39 pounds Dan Lange came in 5th place with a weight of 3.25 lbs. All fish were returned to the lake.
Our next tournament is Saturday April 9 at lake Shelbyville. This tournament is also a club tournament and will launch from the Bo Wood ramp. We hope to see you there!
April 09 Shelbyville ClubTournament
The wind did die down for a very nice day of fishing. 10 boats entered the tournament, and the competition was close after the first two places. This was the second tournament for the club weighing only 5 fish. Big fish weights were quite a bit higher than the Clinton tournament and the competition was very tight. The eventual winner was the team of Brian and Andrew Barnes who reluctantly weighed their big fish only to find out it was a winner by 0.01 of a pound at 1.48 lbs..
The team of Jim Garrett and Greg Kaiser won the tournament with a weight of 6.44 lbs for 5 fish. A remarkable weight on Lake Shelbyville for 5 fish. Shawn Shelby and Mike Hopkins weighed 5 fish at 5.93 lbs. for second place. Third place went to Brian and Andrew Barnes with a weight of 5.04 lbs. Two teams, Zach Hari/Mike Bristle and Jeff Voyles/Nate Herschberger tied for 4th place with 4.68 lbs. All fish were returned to the lake.
Our next tournament is Saturday April 23 at Lake Decatur. This tournament is also a club tournament and will register from the Nelson Park ramp. We hope to see you there!

April 23 Decatur ClubTournament
While it turned out to be the warmest day of the year, the wind was brutal! The wind was at 10- 15 MPH at 7:00 AM and increased to 25- 30 MPH by noon. For safety’s sake the tournament was shortened to 4 hours of fishing ending at 11 AM. The weights were very good for this shortened event.
The team of Shiloh Shoppell and Jett Lappin won the tournament with a weight of 6.30 lbs for 5 fish. Shawn Shelby weighed 5 fish at 6.14 lbs. for second place. Third place went to the team of Zach Hari and Mike Bristle with a weight of 5.69 lbs. Stacey Rogers and David Birch took 4th place with 5.48 lbs. All fish were returned to the lake. Jason and Richard Huber only weighed 2 fish, but one of them was 1.90 lbs. for big fish of the tournament.
Our next tournament is Sunday May 22 at Lake Shelbyville. This tournament is also a club tournament and will register from the Bo Wood ramp. We hope to see you there!

May 22 Shelbyville ClubTournament
It was a good thing that the tournament was on Sunday, not Saturday with its thunderstorms all day. There was a cold front on Sunday, but the sun did come out. Unfortunately, only 5 boats entered the tournament.
Frank Revell, Jr. won the tournament with a weight of 5.15 lbs for 5 fish. Frank also weighed the big fish at 1.54 lbs. Tom Fermanian and Rick Branes weighed 5 fish at 5.05 lbs. for second place.
Our next tournament is Saturday July 23 at Lake Shelbyville. This tournament is an evening event from 5:00 pm to Midnight, which will be a first for the club and will register from the Bo Wood ramp. This should be an entirely different fishing pattern! We hope to see you there!

July 23 Shelbyville Open Tournament
It was a hot one, but the evening tournament provided some relief for the last few hours. Most fish were caught in the light with not much action after dark. Fishing after sundown requires a different set of skills and equipment. There may be another evening tournament in the Club’s future.
Zack Hari and Mike Bristle won the tournament with a weight of 4.13 lbs for 5 fish. They also weighed the big fish at 1.28 lbs. Tom Fermanian and Rick Branes weighed 5 fish at 3.42 lbs. for second place.
